Sachiko
Mori looks forward to guiding you through the process of choosing
a new violin. Whether you are a professional, college student,
or younger advanced student, her extensive experience as a performer,
teacher and connoisseur of fine instruments will provide you with
tremendous resources as you begin your search for a fine instrument.
Ms. Mori has appeared extensively both as a soloist and chamber
musician throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. Originally
from Tokyo, Japan, she moved to the United States when she was
14 and became a student of Elizabeth Holborn. She continued her
studies with Masuko Ushioda, Ivan Galamian, Joseph Gingold and
Franco Gulli.
After
receiving her performance degree from the New England Conservatory
of Music she became a member of the Wurttemberg Chamber Orchestra
in Germany and later joined the Orchestra de la Suisse Romande
in Geneva, Switzerland. She also served for four years as Associate
Concertmaster of the Norwegian National Radio Orchestra. Upon
returning to the United States, Ms. Mori was the Artistic Director
of the Texas Chamber Music Ensemble and performed as Concertmaster
and soloist with the Plano Symphony Orchestra for 12 years.
As
a violin teacher, Ms. Mori has served on the faculty of the New
England Conservatory Preparatory School and the Cape Cod Conservatory.
In addition, she has been a member of the faculty of the Greater
Dallas Youth Orchestra, Texas Institute for Strings and the Eastern
Music Festival.
